I did a Give-Away

I have reached a landmark on my Instagram (@bycarissac) account of 200 Followers.  So I did a drawing… more of a raffle.  I used two of my Inktober paintings as prizes.
I will do another contest when I hit 300 followers.
Tomorrow I will do a similar drawing for my Facebook account that reached 200 the day after Instagram did.  The prize will be two other Inktober paintings.
One Day I imagine being able to hold give-away contests on YouTube and even this blog.
Today I started working on an octopus painting I started a few months ago, but set aside to work on commissions and Inktober.  I am also in the planning stages for another set of drawings that will be made into a coloring book.
Today another time-lapse video was uploaded to my YouTube Channel today.  It was the Flash inkwash drawing.
That should be all the news I have.
Have a great week!

Inktober 2017, The END!

I had a lot of fun with Inktober this year.  I drew something worth while every day.  I even made a little coloring book!
I look forward to next year and doing even better drawings, and even another coloring book.
Here are the last few of the Inktober drawings.
Also, I have a Youtube channel where you can watch me draw all my Inktober drawings, and many other things.

Inktober Week 4

It is almost over!
My right hand is so happy.
I have “mild” carpel tunnel in my right hand, so spending as much time focusing on drawing as I have makes it hurt.  I learn a lot doing this so I think it is worth it.
Today is also the day that a new time-lapse video is uploaded to my YouTube Channel.  Stop by and check it out.
No extras this week.  Things are just very hectic!

Inktober Week 3…

I know this is two days late.
Not awesome stuff has thrown my schedule (such as it is) off.
Here are the seven drawings I did for this week.
13, Kappa
14, Baba Yaga
15, Dullahan (female variety)
16, Alucard from Hellsing
17, Possessed Raggedy Ann Doll
18, A Cursed Mummy Sarcophogus
19, Minotaur and Aristophanes description of Humans before Zeus split them.  I was not happy with my humans so I did the Minotaur.
I also did two nice little bookmarks in gouache to celebrate Friday the 13th. 🙂
It was nice to not draw for a little while.

Inktober Week 2

Week two and still going strong!
I was having computer issues yesterday and I was not sure if I would be able to post this today.
I am also going to put all my Inktober drawings into a video… maybe two.  I have been doing good and recording my drawing sessions.  Even with my difficult work space (darn you Spawn!)

Inktober Week One

This is a quick post.
Here are the creations I came up with for the first week of Inktober.
It is not a full week, it is the first through fourth.  Next week will be a full seven drawings, plus whatever bonuses or extra things I get done.
I did my own prompts.
Day 1 = Zombie
Day 2 = Skull
Day 3 = Plant
Day 4 = Clown
Day 5 = Eyes
The Inktober heading is an extra!

Motivation Monday 14

The inevitable happened.

I used a quote a second time.

I have a hard time finding quotes that give me ideas. I find tons of great and motivational quotes and I even have a list of ones that I really like. The problem is that they give me nice visuals one day, and nothing the next.

Today is an Inktober / Drawlloween flavor of an Elon Musk quote I used a while ago.

“When something is important enough, you do it even if the odds are not in your favor.”

 WorthIt_Small

It is true.

Think of all the challenges you never thought you would overcome. Getting a job… or maybe a better job. Maybe the challenge was something you did NOT do… get arrested, go to jail, get fired.

Our lives are filled with challenges; some easy, some hard. If it is important that you overcome the challenge, you will. You might never know how you did it but you will do it and you will survive.

An example is being a single parent. Try working two jobs to provide for your child. Maybe even take night classes so you can quite one in a few years. Many people are living this life, some with more than one child.

Another example is being a survivor of a horrific event. All of your friends/family are gone, you are the only one left. You are a shell of a person just living off the routine you had. The events of the past few months are leaving many in this situation.

Maybe you are a recovering addict. Maybe you had to move because there would be no way for you to recover where you were living. No job, no friends, no family, no support. Another life that many people are living.

All of these are realities.

It might be yours.

It might be your neighbors.

It might be reality for the guy who serves your coffee.

And in order to survive, you will do what you need to… WHATEVER is important for you to survive.
