Almost Christmas!

Christmas is three days away!
I bet the young and young at heart are excited.
The Holiday season is hard for lots of people.  We remember friends and family that have past.  You might be one of the many that are in a seasonal relationship or not in a relationship.
Make sure everyone feels the love of the season, so give your Scroogy friends a big hug and invite them over (if you can.)  The invitation means a lot even if you are sure they will decline.  Who knows, they might surprise you!
Today I have lots of art to share.
First it is Time-Lapse Thursday.  A new video is available to watch on my Youtube channel, or you can watch it below.  Santa has come to town!
Next up is these two Christmas wreaths I did.
One is creepy and the other less so.
The first one has metallic gold paint for the background.  It looks very nice in person.  It has a good feeling of depth.
The second has a gold leaf background.  It also looks better in person.  The gold leaf does take over the image though.  I will not be using it as a background anytime soon.  It is definitely better as an accent.  It is extremely shiny though.

I will not be making prints of the second one.  The gold leaf just does not photograph or scan very well (as you can see.)  The creepy wreath will be available next year.  Maybe I can do a Christmas in July thing. hmmmm….
I am already starting to plan new things for 2018 and trying to figure out what shows and events I want to do. (Gotta get a new business licences first.)
Merry Christmas!

Inktober Week 4

It is almost over!
My right hand is so happy.
I have “mild” carpel tunnel in my right hand, so spending as much time focusing on drawing as I have makes it hurt.  I learn a lot doing this so I think it is worth it.
Today is also the day that a new time-lapse video is uploaded to my YouTube Channel.  Stop by and check it out.
No extras this week.  Things are just very hectic!

Inktober Week 2

Week two and still going strong!
I was having computer issues yesterday and I was not sure if I would be able to post this today.
I am also going to put all my Inktober drawings into a video… maybe two.  I have been doing good and recording my drawing sessions.  Even with my difficult work space (darn you Spawn!)

Inktober Week One

This is a quick post.
Here are the creations I came up with for the first week of Inktober.
It is not a full week, it is the first through fourth.  Next week will be a full seven drawings, plus whatever bonuses or extra things I get done.
I did my own prompts.
Day 1 = Zombie
Day 2 = Skull
Day 3 = Plant
Day 4 = Clown
Day 5 = Eyes
The Inktober heading is an extra!

Closer and Closer

Every day I get closer to living my dream, well, trying to.
I am so nervous.
Giving up the stability of my current job to pursue something that I want to do… and not knowing if I will be able to support myself.
When I am positive about myself, I believe I can sell everything.  When I am not having a great day, I do not think anyone will buy anything and I will fail.  When I am more balanced, I am pretty sure I will at least break even at my first event, Oddmall Tacoma.  Well I hope I break even (obviously, I have a pretty negative world view today.)
RedStringofFateMy latest painting kind of leans to my thinkings.
You may think that you can control your fate. Pulling on the string binds your senses and then you really cannot do much.  Follow the sting and you may find what you were meant for.
Well, something like that.
On Instagram I put “you can take your fate into your hands, but it will still bind you.”
Speaking about the art.
I really like that I used complimentary colors. Red for the background, some gold and purple to add depth.  I did the skeleton in green.
I hope to see you at OddMall in Tacoma, Wa (I am in booth 37.)
If you cannot make it check out my store!

New Tools are the Best!

There are a few things the I really like. Trying new chocolate and other candies is definitely number one. Baking new treats is number two.Trying new art tools is number three.
I went to Seattle a while ago and bought a bunch of pens. I did not try all of them right away. Today I pulled one out of my purse to use at work. I discovered that it was not appropriate for writing.  The point was to fine. Instead of getting a gray – blue writing pen I got a gray – blue drawing pen! Up until now the smallest pen I have drawn with was .05, this one is a .03. I want a bunch in different colors.
Enjoy the drawing made with this fabulous pen.
